The vagaries of Copilot are mysterious to say the least.
Today at 09.30, after four months of trouble-free GPS reception and connections, CP6 suddenly reported “No GPS signal. Check Connections”. I did, and I found that , while the receiver was connected at the Bluetooth Manager, no way would Copilot pick up the connection, even by re-installing the receiver. Time marched on as I continued experimenting, as inevitably it does, and, eventually, ringing ALK.
To cut a long story relatively short, the upshot is that, until further notice:
CP 6 will no longer make a connection to any of my BT receivers (three in all) except if I install them manually and as non-BT receivers.
Both of my other GPS-based applications continue to work with the BT receiver installed as normal.
The fault occurs on both of my PPCs.
It occurs with both CP ver. 6.0.0.68 and 6.0.0.77.
The fault began on 13th of the month!?
Thankfully, the ALK representative, Rene, (a very friendly and helpful person) came up with the suggestion that I try the non-BT installation; otherwise, I would still be at it.
Hopefully the whole thing won’t go bang on 13th of the next month!!

I have had Bluetooth fail in this way due to lack of memory. I de-installed a couple of programs and that solved the problem. _________________ Ian

Joke appreciated, Alix et al I really did wonder if it was a virus - given that two PPCs behaved the same on the same day, and not before. Are there any viruses around that anyone knows of?
Thanks to IanKB for suggesting that it might be lack of memory. I had actually tried remove the latest programme - is quite large and which did go into memory rather than the SD card, despite the instructions on installation. Unfortunately, it hasn't done the trick. I'll carry on experimenting as time permits.

I doubt this would be the problem, however I was testing 64bit windows and had the PPC plugged in and all my programs no longer talked to the BT or the ActiveSync, required a hard reset and reinstall of the apps and all was fine after that.. |
