Yes at least we know where the problem is.

I was using TTN5.21 on the iPAQ, with the BT338. |
As it is running TTN5 then it is definatly in NMEA mode.
You could try the re-install but I would think you will end up in the same position, as you have got this working on two other devices can you confirm your port settings from one of the other machines, inparticular the settings for the GPS icon, it is in Settings/ Connections tab (but wasn't in that loc'n on a x50v running WM2005 I played with) - Mike |

OK,
My Two mates have x51Vs, and their own BT338. I managed to get theirs working fine.....They are both using Comm 7 (From memory, I can confirm tomorrow when I get to work....well, when THEY get into work...I start at about 7:00, they start at Late'O-clock....about 10-ish). I think I was using Com7 on the iPAQ....hold on, I'll check....The iPAQ appears to be using "Bluetooth Serial port 7"
I dont have Comm 7 as an option, I have:
Com8
Native IR
Com3
BT UART on Comm5
Serial Cable on Com1: (This was the one tweeked as per above) |

Don't try to copy the settings from two different devices they will be different more than often than not, as you have access to the other two devices I would wait and see what they are set to, this way you can then prove for sure if there is actually something wrong with any of the kit, assuming you don't end up snowed in that is!! - Mike |

Lets just double check the GPS connection, go to Bluetooth/ settings and delete any reference to the GS338, then select Bluetooth Settings, devices tab and press the new partnership, from the displayed list select the GPS unit and press next, select serial port at the next screen.
Then go to the Com Ports tab and select "New Outgoing Port", select the GPS unit from the list and press next, from the presented drop down box select ComO from the list and press finish - then try TT again, you need to look for Com0 in the GPS setup within TT - Mike |

This is starting to sound like the GPS applet settings, try opening this and set the Programs tab to use COM0 and hardware to COM 7 or 8, I can't be more specific than this as I don't have the device, but playing around with these settings should sort you out, don't worry about the Baud speed displayed, select 33600 as MS don't seem to display the true figures - Mike |

There will be an icon named GPS within the programs or settings, you will need to hunt it down as I am not too sure where Dell have put it on the x51v - Mike |
