Yes.

Only if you need to revert to 2.7, but not merely for the upgrade to the beta version. |

The change list appears to be the same as for the previous beta (2.81). It hasn't crashed my i3, yet - but I've not done anything other than GPS-off type route calculations.
It may have changed the way custom points are shown in the menu on the i3 (ie no categories). |

Anyone realised what this is about yet?

It was one of the reasons I thought it would be good to try the firmware. |

(2.82 beta) seems to have included numerous new categories to the subcategories below "Food, hotels and more". |

I'll start the ball rolling - I've gone for this current beta 2.82, and so far not encountered any issues - although I've only done GPS-off routes (which curiously have some differences from previously generated, GPS-off routes, on earlier firmware). |
Custom points now only show 50 points which are from the total poi's on the i3. The 50 are the nearest to your current location irrespective of saving the poi's to your i3 in idividual folders.
When on battery power does not bleep when switched on.
No problems navigating a short distance got me there and back ok will give it a full test tomorrow night .
Can't put my finger on it but overall impresssion is that it may be slower in overall operation just a feeling i had. |

And after using it, I've found that the timing of voice prompts does seem improved and more accurate. And it's the first time I've noted the voice prompts include small distances in feet, rather than point.(whatever) of a mile. |

As an example, under entertainment, there's bar/nightclub, and things like movie theatre.
There seems to be a number of new categories under numerous main categories. I'm not so dedicated I'm going to list them all, though ;-) |

Well I've not got V8 maps, but I'm definitely finding categories that I hadn't seen previously - they may be bad / wrong examples - but there's definitely some changes in the categories. |
