|
|
Hi can anyone help.
I have registered today for the cameras. I am running Mac OS X latest version. When I download the ZIP files, Stuffit expander informs me the decompression failed? Any one know why this is? Tried using Safari, Firefox and IE but the same thing happened. I have downloaded all the ZIP files and the same thing happened. I have used Stuffuit Expander on ZIP files from other sites and no problems whatsoever. Please help! |

I've got exactly the same problem running Mac OSX with Safari. Can't find any technical support related to this anywhere and nothing saying the database couldn't be accessed on Macs before I paid my money. Can anyone help? |

Sorry just spotted this thread. I've passed this onto the more technical members here and they will get back to you asap.
Must be frustrating for you, but we WILL get it sorted. |

I've now had a chance downloading with Firefox and have been successful so perhaps it's an issue with Safari? |

Hi. I did a complete re-install on my Mac. You are correct, Safari will not download database but Firefox latest build will. Thanks! Have sent a bug report to Safari for their feedback. |

Hi Everyone
Up until this month I have been able to download the speed cams database all OK (ZIP file, with TomTom OV2 files inside it)
Now I have just tried, and find that:
1) Safari does not download properly at all (leaves a partially downloaded file behind)
2) Firefox does appear to download it OK (aprox 140kb ? for the zip file containing speed cams sorted by type - gatso, mobile, etc)
3) Stuffit reports corrupt archive, will not decompress anything.
4) The MacOS Finder's own built in decompressor for ZIP only manages to produce 1x BMP file from the ZIP archive
Runnig latest everything. 10.4.6 OS.
Any suggestions/help very much appreciated!
Kind regards,
Ashley |

Hi Peter
Not sure which is worse.. 1000's of potential viruses or getting caught by a revenue-earning speed camera.. hmmm
Cheers,

Good stuff, some Mac users - I thought that SatNav was only for those with a PC. Thankfully work let me install software so I can manage my new Nuvi 310D from my work computer.
However, seeing this thread has made me wonder if I can update speed camera locations on my Garmin Nuvi 310D via my Mac?
Would be good if I could...
Thanks |

Rather than repeat what i have written many times before, please see this thread.
Many of us here at PocketGPSWorld.Com are Mac users, I'm sitting here typing this on my iMac and so you can rest assured we will wherever possible never exclude Mac users from any of our services.
There is no issue with Safari so long as you manually extract the downloaded archive. _________________ Darren Griffin |
