|
|
Hi there,
Is there any way of changing the day/night setting automatically according to the time of day?
I believe this is possible with the GO but is there any application that can do this for the PDA?
Many thanks in advance. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

I use GPS Assist with TT£ and this is one of the options available. I'm not sure of the current situation with TT5

Unfortunately GPSAssist only seems to work with Navigator 1,2 & 3. Pity because the auto night feature was really good.
I've stopped using GPS Assist because as far as I can establish it no longer integrates with Navigator 5. The Promasoft website is not too specific but it does say GPSAssist is for 1,2 & 3. Still says 3 is the "newest version".
I don't know whether TOmTom ever released a SDK for the likes of Promasoft.
Anyone else got any info? |

As far as I know, the SDK can be purchased by anybody from tomtom and therefore anybody should be able to write a program for it. Does anybody at PocketGPSWorld know? You guys must havea current SDK for tomtom5 as you made POICapture. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

I cant believe you need software to tell you when it's night time. When it gets dark all you have to do is 3 taps on the old tomtom and it's done!!! |

The german forum Pocketnavigation.de offers the Twilight software that does exactly that (and a bit more).
For the GO there is similar software available. _________________ Lutz

This is true, but if there is a program that does this automatically, why not utilise this

I have found the twilight software
However, I am now having problems getting it to install on PDA.
My German is obviously not as good as it used to be.
I'll keep trying but if anybody can give me a hand with the translation, let me know and I will either PM or email the instructions over _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

I Have managed to install it on my Mio 168. I copied the three files,Twilight exe,Twilight Client exe and Twilight txt to the TomTom\SDKRegisty folder. Before doing that open up the Twilight Txt file and check that the shortcut to TomTom is correct for Your PDA.
After it is installed create a shortcut to Twilight exe and put it where you normally launch TomTom from.
Thats all I have managed up to now. Unless someone comes up with a good translation then I guess we will just have to play about with it and keep on posting our collective findings until we have a good knowledge of how it works. |

sorry for being my usual flippant self but I try and keep my XDA free of any unnecessary software. The poor thing struggles as it is. :D |
