Can someone please sort this out for me...
In trying to use another splash screen I have now managed to end up with a tomtom one with no splash screen at all even though I saved the original splash.bmp (and no it isn't named splash.bmp.bmp) and copied it back into the root of the sd card. What am I doing wrong ???? |

Having big problems too!
image is 240x320 (once rotated)
it's a bmp - not double bmp'd
open folders, drag it into tomtomgo (e) and nothing happens
I now have now splash at all just a blank screen.
what are you guys talking about when you say " save it to the root of the sd card?????!!!!!!!!"
what does that mean in ENGLISH
ie where do I find the 'root of the sd card'
can I just drag my new splash into the device or do I need to do something else???????????
arrrrghhhh - wish I hadn't started this

Splash screen should be 240x320, 24 bit and rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
The root is the main folder that you first see when accessing the card. |

Actually it should start out as 320x240 and becomes 240x320 when rotated. |

That's exactly where you put it. _________________ Richard

Hi guys, same prob as a few others, spent a while trying to sort out but no joy.
Have used someones rover 75 pictures, saved as a 320 x 240 bmp and renamed it splash.bmp, and rotated 90 degrees. saved to root of sd card. all seems well. Hve tried saving as 240x 320 and rotating in all directions....
however all i get when i turn the tomtom go 300 on is a grey shiny screen as if it should be there..... not sure what to do now.....
can anyone point me abit further in the right direction..... I live in sutton in surrey and if anyone is local and they can fix it theres a drink in it for them.....

Try leaving the sd card in the card reader for longer. Many card readers do not indicate accurate transfer data with their litle blinking lights. I am sure I had the same probs as you are experiencing but decided to wait a while longer for files to load. If you can see the image files as thumbnails when looking at the sd card with explorer view then they have reliably loaded. Give it a try, it worked for me. |

..and be sure to "eject" from the context menu. |
