|
|
Just switched to the Three (3) network and got the Nokia 6680. Having called the bastids in the call centre in India, they were f*ck all use with the following:
Whats the settings to dial from the iPaq for Traffic/GPRS?
dial:
Username:
Password:
Domain:
All this worked fine with my Nokia 6600 on Vodafone, but Three Customer Services were cr@p and told me none of it can be done etc... |

I’m sorry to say you will have no luck in connecting to Traffic over “Three” network.
Unfortunately they operate a “Walled Garden” approach to internet access and will only let you see internet sites they want you to see. This goes for 3G and GPRS.
This is one of the reasons for me moving back to Vodafone. _________________ Tomtom GO 710 + TMC RDS

if you can't get out of the 3 contract buy a payg sim for vodafone and use your old fone for traffic - you would need to do this anyway if you have bt handsfree for the new phone.
btw - whats 3 like?

Calls are very cheap but there are a few problems with the 3G network.
Because the coverage on Three 3G is not as high as standard 2G and 2.5G , it swaps between services often at the cost of droped calls.
This is only a probelm if you make alot of calls on the move or are in a fringe area between 3G and 2G
Also. (main gripe) as i've already said, internet access is restricted. _________________ Tomtom GO 710 + TMC RDS

There's now a 15 mobile web add on which should allow you to use live traffic on three. |

I'll try again, that should have read:
There's now a £15 per month mobile web add on which should allow you to use live traffic on three if you have a contract phone. |

Read it carefully! it is still restricted to a few web sites and not all.For all you will need to pay £45 a month.... _________________ Tomtom GO 710 + TMC RDS
