Hi Woodsta.
Check out Brodit pro clip. Just type in Brodit in Google and you'll get loads of retailers.
These clips are model specific for the car.
The beauty of these clips is that you do not have to drill any holes anywhere. :D They are designed to clip onto or into things that are already on your dash.
All I did was take a hacksaw to the original mount and chopped off the lump that sticks out the back. Drilled & tapped 2 fixing screws thru it into the Brodit. Job done. :D
Can't remember where I got mine.
Not cheap, (then neither was your sat nav) but does the biz and can easily be removed when you leave the car so as not to tempt the 'sat nav theives'.
Good Luck.

So you have to pay all that cash for the brodit mount, then butcher the Navman mount, before having to carry out a DIY job on it all! Is there no purpose made mount for the navman?
I've got a round rigid plastic disk bonded to the dash, upon which the normal mount sticks to, so is closer to the driver and less glare on the screen. I would prefer a properly fixed mount on the air vent though.

Hi Monsiuercanard.
There is no other air vent mount on the market for the Navman.
Boy, did I search.
Navman site only sells the same as supplied in the box.
I have seen some people use the pda airvent mount turned sideways, but in my opinion, that looks pony.
The reason I went down this road was that I was reluctant to 'stick' anything on my dash as my car is fairly new, so had to make the best of what was available, without causing any damage.
And hey, the DIY job only took 5 minutes. :D
I too would love to find a proper air vent mount for it. Maybe it's something Navman can address, although I have to say, I doubt it, and then charge us through the nose for it like they do for all their accessories.
Good luck in your quest. If you find one can you let me know.

I thought the Brodit was a two piece device.

I understood that there was a vehicle specific clip that you got, depending on car model and where you wanted to mount it, and then a GPS/PDA specific part which fitted to the clip. _________________ Navman ICN 520

Hi
Brodit do 2 Navman 510/520 specific holders, plus the clip of your choice, ie vent, gear box tunnel or dash.

Great stuff, but still bloody expensive at £30 a go, for a little bit of plastic!
If money is no object then fine, but I'm sure there will be plenty who can & will make their own adaptions. Shame on Navman really, for producing such a crap piece of equipment as the windscreen mount. You watch, they will soon bring out another type of mount at a high price.
