Im wondering weather Tomtom PPC
(version 2, 4, 5) Edition Maps are compatible with mobile??
I know that maps of Palm and pocket PC and Go are the same but would they work on a Nokia 6600 supposedly?

Yes, follow the instructions and use a card reader/writer if you have one. It's much faster than transferring to the device. _________________ Tim |

Hi folks I was wondering if you could help me with the transferring of maps onto my MMC. I have full European maps from my TT PDA set up which I would like to use on TT Mobile. Firstly I install the TT Mobile software onto the MMC then for the maps I do as follows:
1. Insert relevant map disc into CD Rom and double click TT icon
2. On setup screen tick I agree to T's & C's then click next
3. Next screen tick Pocket PC (Windows CE) then click next
4. Next screen tick Add Maps then click next
5. Next screen I select the map then click next
6. On the map set up screen I select Other Location (Advanced) then click next
7. Next screen tick Storage Card Reader (CF/MMC/SD) the click next
8. Next screen I choose the location of my storage card reader and click next
9. Once this is clicked the computer kicks into action and the file transfer commences
Everything looks to be in order when I do the above and the status bar is shown on my PC showing how the transfer is getting on. Once it is about 50% complete I get an error message on screen to tell me there is a problem with the set up and it wipes the TT mobile software from my MMC!
Any thoughts on this? I am running a 1GD Kingston card and the maps are only 199MB in size.
Sorry to babble on but any help you could give would be appreciated . |

Step 7 - specify a folder on your PC. See if it completes the install. Your CD may be broken, or your SD card driver may not be up to the task.
If everything finishes, copy the created subfolder to your storage card. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the tip. I'm currently trying to do the install in reverse (maps first then software). If that doesn't work I'll copy the maps to my PC first and then transfer as you say.
Thanks again :D . |

Hmmm the transfer to PC then onto MMC card seemed to have worked fine and I can view the files on my PC (first time around).
When I put the MMC into my phone however the TT icon is not shown and when I go to access the memory card it says (memory card corrupted)!!!! If I then take the MMC out of the phone and put it back into my PC/card reader all the contents on the MMC seem to have changed with strange folder names. When I try to get into the folders I get not accessible. I can only access the UK maps folder that I transferred from my PC!
Sorry to be a pain again but any ideas? |

Thanks for that Lutz the phone is now able to read the card and the TT software.
I'm still having problems getting the UK maps onto the phone though. I have saved the UK maps onto my PC and then copied and pasted it onto the MMC card. What appears to be happening is that the UK maps are corrupting the rest of the data on the MMC!
Any thoughts? |

No it's actually a 1GB which is why I'm confused. I've tried installing both sets of UK maps (208MB and 111MB) and both sets max out the memory card without the maps loading!
There is nothing else stored on the memory card other than the TT mobile software. Should I try a different map set? |
