|
|
Hi all. I have finally got tomtom navigator 5 to work on my XDA mini S thanks to you lot here (which I really appreciate) but now I just need a little more help.
How and where can I get addons for it, such as speed cameras (all types) etc. but especially what I want is a FULL postcode search, not just the first 5 digits of a postcode, eg AB12 3CD instead of AB12 3.
Hope ive explained this properly, thanks for your time and look forward to more of your help :D |

If you have TTN5 and V5 maps you will have the full Postcode facility.
Use Navigate to .... > Right Arrow > Postcode.
The Speed Cameras are just POI files that are copied to the Map Folder.
Have a read of this, although written for the GO series, the POI work the same. _________________ Richard

For the postcode search to work, you must have a folder in the root of the storage card called tomtom ..... the folder does not have to contain anything, it just has to exist... (mmm... very strange I know) ... once you have done that, then the advice from Oldboy is spot on and it works great |

Are you trying this in the "address" option in the find by view - that only uses 5 digit. Instead go to the next page and there is a seperate postcode option. That is the one that gives you the 7 figure search. _________________ Peter

I am new to this forum but there seems such a mine of info available from knowledgeable people.
I cannot get the post code function to work. Everything reverts to a normal address type search and then I found the above.
I have transfered my TT5 programme to my 3970 and just run the maps on the storage card. Does the folder tomtom need to be in the map folder on the card or in the tomtom programme on the 3970. All help gratefully received. BJB |

Using 'Advanced Planning' indoors, I can input the 7 digit code ok, but then what? It just sits there staring at me asking me to select from a number of towns/streets etc. (And I have a seperate tt folder in the root) |

The TomTom Folder goes at the same level as the Map Folder on the SD Card. Not in the Map Folder. _________________ Richard
