I was concerned to see some bad comments about PDAMODS on this forum straight after ordering some stuff from them!
My order was delivered to me in 2 days, complete and as requested.
Excellent service and value. :D |

twc,
just to let you know that PDAMODS has a bit of a bad reputation with some regular contributors to this forum.
They trade under many different names, which is never a good sign.
There is a history of first time posters posting fulsome praise on them (some of it so gushing that it could have come from an advertising copywriter) and then never posting again, which leads many to question the genuineness of the post.
Lastly it appears that when things go wrong (as happens with every organisation no matter how good they are) they can be very difficult to contact and reluctant to abide by their obligations under UK legislation.
This is just a comment to explain the doubting posts you may see in reply. They are not personal against you. Despite that welcome to the forum and I hope that you will be making regular contributions in the future. |

Steve,
the point is that anybody checking these posts can easily check to see if twc becomes a regular contributor or a one off. They then know whether or not to add his posts to the other ones that appear, to say the least, suspicious.

On the suggestion of others I have added a new section to the forum rules that will prohibit positive/negative retailer posts such as these from any member with less than 10 posts.
Any posters who ignore this rule will have their posts deleted.
I don't doubt that some posts are sincere but I'm sure we all have suspicions about some. Hopefully this requirement will reduce the problem.
The specific rule has been copied from the Forum Rules Forum and posted as a sticky in this forum. I have asked the team and Mods to implement this requirement on all new posts with immediate effect. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes but ..........
I am not so sure
My very first post to Pocket GPS World was in this forum to praise the guy who fitted my Parrott 3300 combined car kit and sat nav receiver. Would have been hacked off if I was banned from doing it and may never have tried again (good thing I can hear some say) |

Unfortunately, it is probably the lesser of the two evils, hacking off a genuine poster, or hacking off the rest of us who have to read what we suspect may be ficticious.
Unlike so many of the praising posters you have continued to post, and consequently would have quickly been able to post your praise. After all, it is a delay not a ban. |

I bought a cover my Dad from PDAmods on their Ebay site. The order was cancelled by them even though I never heard anything from them what so ever!
It turns out that they didnt have the colour that my dad wanted.
But rather than email me about it they just cancelled the order.
Well as my dad wanted it really quickly we went ahead and re ordered another colour. Which I have to say arrived quickly.
All in the product was accpeptable and what my dad wanted.
The reponse from PDAMODS and their subsiduary name was shoddy to say the least! _________________ TomTom 300

I've just dealt with PDAmods for the third time, and it's now the second time that they have dispatched incorrect goods, although I accept that this can be just bad luck. Their customer service is VERY poor. Getting hold of them is a game that I never want to play again. I will not use them anymore
On the other hand I also ordered from Expansys, GPS4Less, MobyMemory, and GPSWarehouse (all highly recommended) :D
I ordered 8 items for 5 stores on the same day within a couple of hours. Everything came next day in good working order except for the 2 items that I ordered from PDAmods. |

Totally agree - at least they get deleted now if they have less than 10 posts. _________________ Thanks,
