External antenna with the GO 700 (almost a must). |

Thanks for that. Good to know if people ask.

I don't plan to buy until late March and am hoping there will be some announcements before then. |
CeBIT is in March. TomTom traditionally launch their new range of products and software there and whilst it's almost certain that Navigator 6 will be announced there, it is highly likely that replacements for the GO range may make an appearance as well.
However, a launch is one thing, availability is another and it could be some months before they reach the shelves.
Given your requirements I'd grab a 700 at a bargain price now. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Only if you have reception issues or an athermic screen and if you do this applies to all GO's not just the 700.
Certainly for many installations this is not a must. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ive got both the one and a go classic, the Go is much better, every time i switch the one on, i get the Sd card missing symbol, if i attempt to insert it for more than 3 attempts the one locks and has to be reset. A friend is also experiencing similar problems. |

It sounds like you have a faulty SD Card or one of the files is corrupted.
Have you got a Full Backup of the 1?
If so, I would reformat the SD Card and Restore the Backup to the SD Card. _________________ Richard

Quote: | 39 3rd party POI's in 5.420 |
I am looking at getting a satnav with speed camera database, was originally looking at the road angel navigator and then the snooper indago. However after reading some stuff on this site i then was looking at the Go300 plus your speed camera database, now this one has been thrown into the mix.
So a couple of questions, whats the benefit of the 300 over the one, i would prefer the power unit to be in the cradle so thats a plus for the 300 but been reading that the one has better reception.
Also as quoted above i assume thats 39 different types of POI's ie speed cam, mac d's, kfc etc, rather than just 39 points of interest ie 39 cameras.
Does the 300 hold more than the one with actual POI's as i will need the whole countries cam locations on the unit.
Any advise would be great. |

I'm no expert but have researched this pretty thoroughly, so here's my summary. No doubt someone will correct me (which is part of the reason I'm replying!).
The One is slimmer, cheaper, faster, has better reception (sounds like me). Against that, power has to be attached directly to the head unit, there is no case with it, it doesn't power down when you remove external power and can't be fully integrated.
Tricky. I think I'd buy the One, but your priorities may be different.
Except that I want full western European mapping, so the Go 700 is easily the best buy, complete with a mains adapter, remote control, and bluetooth handsfree for your phone (if compatible). Ebuyer has the 700 for £400 delivered at the moment. It may be cheaper elsewhere but I haven't checked because I think I'll wait and see what gets announced at CeBIT. |

The number is the same for both units.
The GO series has a battery life of about 6 hours before recharge. The ONE has about 2 hours. _________________ Richard

Is it true that the Nuvi won't allow multi-destination routes (travel from A to B via C and D) or choice of routes (fastest, shortest...)? |

You can also try the Garmin i3 (for £99 only if you can get your hands on one). Less bells and whistles but perfect for the purpose and best value for money. |
