I have ttn5 with an hp ipaq rx3700. I have copied the original SD card to a new 1gb card as a back up but when i put this in to my ppc and open tomtom it just says "no maps found!" Does anyone know why this is? I have checked every file and they are all there and are the correct size.
Thanks

Dave, Welcome to the forum, Does TomTom still work using the original card?, Also when you copied the original card did you have "Show hidden Files" checked in windows explorer/ Tools/ Folder Options then select the view tab and look for Hidden files and folders, re-format the larger card to wipe it and re-copy the original - Mike |

I had have the same issue with a 1GB card on an FJ Loox. doing a soft reset finds the maps ok. My impression is that the problem is with the IPAQ and not Tomtom.

I've just installed TTN5 from an SD card to my Dell Axim51v and when I launch TT all I get is a "No Maps Found" message. Any ideas? I can find the GB map but for some reason TT is not finding it. Should be in a specific location? |

What type of install have you done? if it was a pre-loaded SD Card from TomTom then it should work, if you have copied files onto a larger card, did you select show hidden files in widows as per above post, finally the folders that TomTom needs to opperate should be in the root of the SD card, if you have put them all into a folder TomTom won't see them - Mike |

FYI I had the same NO MAPS FOUND issue when trying a new 1gb card on TTGO. Solution? Well I had copied files from a WinXPHome PC. Tried it using a Win98 PC (slower copying?) and it worked for my GB maps. My France map then also failed (NO MAPS FOUND) - but copying that one from a WinXPProf PC did work. Moral? Don't assume all data and files have been properly copied whatever the card contents say. Try again, copying using other source machines if you have a chance. You never know, it may make a difference. (Even though it all ought to be irrelevant, empirical results in my case disprove theory) |

The map files I'm struggling with all sit in their own directories in the format "mapname-Map", eg the USA Midwest maps are in a directory "Midwest-Map" and TT5 sees them fine, I can switch maps OK and the maps work great. However, the France maps I have sit in a folder on the SD card called "France-Map" the contents look as I think they should but TT5 doesn't see them, won't give me any indication they are there - any ideas please? |
