|
|
Hi!
My friend uses Tom Tom Navigator 5 on his O2 XDA ii? I think...
and he wants to put it on his Palm PDA too.
I think, physically it can't be done, because of the activation code.
But he says it can.
I also think Tom Tom says 'one device only'!
Can anyone put me to the wise?!

Technically it can be done (after at least seven days from the first activation). Legally he is not permitted to use the software on both devices, only on one at any given time. _________________ Lutz

lbendlin!
thanks for your quick reply! I asked him why he wants both, and sometimes he takes his PDA and phone with him, sometimes it is the O2 XDA device, so he is only using one GPS device at a time...
He said he put the software on the PDA's SD card and downloaded the prc file using hotsynch, but when he runs Tom tom on the PDA. it tells him
'This product has not been activated' he clicks continue, and he sees a device code, but he cannot actviate even by going to the www.ttcode.com site.
Oh well! I am sure he will sort it!
I am still enjoying my Navman iCN 635! Cost me only 149 pounds!

This means he did already activate two products and will have to wait for half a year before he can activate on a third device. _________________ Lutz

thanks again!
I have a suspicion that he has not entered the code correctly. because he said he entered 2 sets of 5 letters and numbers, but the Tom Tom site says a set of 3.... consisting of 5 letters and numbers.
I better check what he is actually doing...1
thanks for your help and advice!

I've just been throught this process.
I'd started with an iPAQ 3115, and then changed to a 6515, which I activated without problems.
I've just switched to a 2750, and I had to phone TomTom. They were fine about it, but I did have to send them a copy of the invoice for the new PDA, I'd have been in real trouble without that!
I was back up and running in an hour. |
