There can be 3 setups for speed cameras.

The first is a single file that contains all the cameras together, without any reference to what type. This is named pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2 and found in the 'single file version' folder.

Second is the 5 file version that divides the cameras into types. Gatso, Mobile, Specs, Redlight and Temporary. These you will find in the 'ov2 bmp' folder.

Third is the full 25 file version that divides the Gatso, Mobile and Specs files into speed zones. There are 8 Gatso and 7 Mobile and 7 Specs files. These are found in the 'speed zoned/gatso/ov2 bmp', 'speed zoned/mobile/ov2 bmp' and 'speed zoned/Specs/ov2 bmp' folders. Add to these the Redlight and Temporary files as above.

I have not included the Continental file because you will only need this if going to the continent. But should you want it , it's in the 'ov2 bmp' folder.

When you've decided which set you want copy each .ov2 file, and it's matching .bmp file to your map folder. Then setup the POI's in Manage POI.

So..... which files do I need again? Wink

Seriously, well done for getting this info in a simple concise form. I bet it won't stop people asking, but at least they can be pointed here every time Smile

I feel really stupid but I dont understand at all! Can you explain it in a very easy fashion or is it too difficult to put down in writing? Many thanks

The first reply is on your other posting. It's a good one, so I won't add anything here.

I've been reading and enjoying this forum for months (contributed once and received helpful advice) but I've noticed the same questions being asked time and time again by people who, it seems, can't be bothered to read earlier topics. Please, to save time and space please, read the manual supplied with your TomTom, download and read the on-line TomTom manual, try to sort out your own problem and only when all else fails - post a new topic.

Sugestion (but first - I am not very computer or TomTom literate. I have a 700 (ie no SD card) and until very recently I thought SDK was short for "Scardycat") I've read and re-read the beginers guides etc to "Saftey Camera Installation" and I still get lost especially when I then read pages and pages of corrections and questions and answers and more suggestions.

Could someone write, for numb-sculls like me (I'm sure there are more out there), a definative, step-by-step, guide to installing things, and I mean "back to basics". Screen shots would help or, at the very least, a description of what should happen and be seen when certian buttons are pressed. Clarification on how to download and unzip the original file would be a good start and more advice on which set up to install - I presume that on the 700 there is no doubt that the full set of speed zoned cameras etc would fit without problem.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm asking all this on behalf of "a friend", it's for me.

The problem is that there are so many variations of the Database now, as there are variations of Make and Models. Not only that, there are users who have different PC's, and Mac's, running different Operating Systems for connecting to those Devices.

Yes, you have more than enough room to put a full set of cameras on your 700.

To get the extra warnings you will need to get poiextend.

If you goto http://www.tomtomsatnav.info/ there is a lot of information on how to get more voice warnings.

If you are still uncertain, there is a Contact Me link at the bottom of the page.

Ray, who runs the satnavinfo site, would be better placed to help you.

He has, probably, got more insight in the setup of PoiExtend than anyone.
