EMI and RFI can be considered one and the same.
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/25154.pdf is a datasheet for one of the products.
Presumably, the iPaq is generating noise on the frequency range GPS uses (1.2 and 1.5 Ghz I believe)? However, I'd have thought the existing iPaq screen would have attenuated any noise from the iPaq?
Not sure - but I'm wondering if the IF on the Navman is where the interference is occuring? Anyone know what the RF spec is on the Navman? |

I've applied the ant-static bag fix to my Emtac Jacket and am seeing a definite improvement in TTFF, without it,s between 15 & 25 secs, with it's 10-15 secs so quite an improvement! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I think Darren said he had some, so we should be able to get a test. I'll see if I can scrounge some from somewhere. If I can scrounge one with a hard drive in, even better! |

I haven't got any antistatic bags to test this theory with. |

pann, for some reason aluminium foil seems to do nothing at all for my unit also, I can now conclude that weaved aluninium also does not work very well, at least on my unit anyway.
Hopefully navman can read these posts and possibly learn something from them, im sure we would all benefit if they did.
Im glad it has worked for you pann _________________ In The Land Of The Blind The One Eyed Man Is King! |
