I would like to take that question further by including the Fortuna GPSmart Bluetooth as well.
In terms of price comparison, there is a lot of difference among these three products - for example :
Fortuna GPSmart Bluetooth - £149.97 incl. VAT
GlobalSat (BT308) Bluetooth - £169.95 incl. VAT
EMTAC: Bluetooth CRUX II - £214.97 incl. VAT
(from www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk)
Thanks

If it helps anyone I have the Globalsat BT308 and am very pleased with it. It came with AC charger, car charger with power feed for Ipaq and an external aerial.
I have put the magnetic aerial on my boot (I have an Escort Saloon) run the wiring internally so nothing is seen. It comes out in the glovebox where I leave the BT308. I don't tend to have the power leads connected but keep them by in case the battery runs low.
This means that for most short journeys my Ipaq is run off battery and no leads are used. If the Ipaq is running low I use the Globalsat lead but that's no a frequent occurence.
From reviews etc I'd only buy the Emtac if the price difference was minor. |

Thanks Stevie.
Quick question on your IPAQ (guess you have 2210 as well). Since, you do not power it while you are in the car, does the screen light not turn off. The maximum time setting (for the display light 'on') seems to be 5 minutes while it is on battery power ?
Many thanks,

I have the 3970 and try not to look at the screen too often anyway. A quick touch on the jog dial and the light comes on for another few mins. |
