I've received an offer from Blackspot to upgrade my Road Angel to the Navigator for a significant reduction.
Do they want my unit in return?
Has anyone tried the Navigator & is it any good? |

I've heard reports that retailers have had large numbers of returns of this unit and sales were halted as a result. Blackspot have failed to produce a review unit having stalled us on numerous occasions.
The unit looks good, a little expensive perhaps and runs CoPilot (possibly the older v5 rather than the recebtly launched v6.
I'd be wary of making a decision until more is known about the quality etc. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have just purchased one as an upgrade. They want the old unit back BUT if you have paid for a licence (mine is lifetime) then you can keep the old unit and flog it.
Now for the bad news, I've had mine 4 days and it's locked up 3 times. I phoned Blackspot and they are sending me a replacement SD card with updated software. They admitted that there were a number of bugs in it. Not sure if I will keep it, I may sell it on eBay and make some money on it. The RA Classic did all that I wanted, is the RA Navigator just a nice toy to have that will get nicked from the car?

The Road Angel Navigator" is NOT worth even considering as a purchase, I have trialed one, and it is the most awful thing i ever have used.
It tried to direct me 45 miles onto a motorway when getting 2 miles from town to home, that was the "fastest" route!
I also have some inside info, and the mapping software used, well lets just say, my 11yr old could design better graphics!
From warm start it took THIS WAS THE SHORTEST EVER a staggering super fast 15 minutes to get a fix, and then dropped out!
Its a shame because Road Angel was a good detection system, but by using chesp chinese parts and software, they have made a big mistake, and £500????????????
My mate bought one against my advise, and it was stolen(lucky in some respects) he will replace with a tomtom when insurance pays out
I could post more but i dont want to be taken to court for deformation of character
Ill leave it there
