TTNAV v2.24 with GPS 2.05 and Emtac Bluetooth. I've noticed that more often than not when starting TTNAV it will say GPS position unreliable even though GPS Status shows a lock, however if I switch to map view and then back to Navigator view it works fine.
Also noticed that intermittently the Navigator view will stop updating my position, no GPS errors, just stuck on an earlier position. Not hung because I can again switch to Map view and position is being updated. Switch back to Navigator view and it starts updating again.
Is this a known problem? Fix available? |

I haven't seen these issues, which driver are you using in the GPS Status screen ? |

2.05 GPS Driver, TTNAV 2.24.
I seemed to have similar problems with the 2.06 driver and as it offered no real benefit to my PPC2002 PDA I reverted back to 2.05. |

This sounds like the same problem Lost Cause is having. See this link |

Thanks Aero
Had a read through and the problem is quite similar. However I never have any problems on the Map view, it's just the Navigator that gets stuck and switching forward and back kicks it back into life. I'm sure it's not the GPS driver as 2.06 displayed the same problem. It's happened ever since I went to 2.24 and I've recently carried out a complete erase (software & registry) and installed from scratch.
One other thing I forgot to mention is that I upgraded to CheckPoint 3.0 at about the same time, I wonder if that could be the problem?

Whilst I can't think of a specific reason to implicate CheckPOInt, it would seem wise to run without extra add-ins if you're having problems and I'd uninstall it for now.
My suggestion is this.
Backup the iPAQ - you can get Pocket Backup 2 free from www.spritesoftware.com - just click the link for iPAQ owners.
Uninstall your current GPS driver and install 2.08 into main memory. I can't think this will make the slightest bit of difference (the fixes in recent versions relate to Pocket PC 2003), but it does get you onto the latest released code.
Uninstall and reinstall both the main program and your chosen voice files - both should really go into main memory. It would be wise to delete the TomTom Navigator Settings folder in My Documents (from version 2.22 upwards) and allow Navigator to rebuild that data with fresh copies.
On the iPAQ, if you're using the 2.10 ROM, install the SD driver fix if you haven't already done so (assuming your maps are on SD card) - you can get that here (the other two fixes in the "System Management" section are for the 2.00 ROM). Follow the instructions on that upgrade carefully!
Finally, I suggest that you delete your maps and reinstall them - if possible, reformatting the storage card, then redownload all downloaded POI files.
It could be that this lot makes no difference (you may have a Bluetooth problem, or a problem with the Emtac unit itself) - but it should rule out subtle data corruption or installation issues.
I'm not seeing the issues you're describing with my 3970 based setup, though I'm using a Haicom HI-303MMF GPS inserted into a PC Card Expansion Pack Plus, also I'm using CheckPOInt 2.0.2 (available from this site's download page - it's arguably far more suited to use with the PocketGPS camera database).

Hi,
Just for interest sake, I'm running an XDA 32Mb running Pocket PC2002, TTN2 v2.24(361), GPS v2.08 (291/378), Checkpoint v2.0.2.0, 256Mb SD Card (www.integralmemory.com) and I have the same problems as the creator of this thread.
I'm sure this didn't use to happen, but I recently upgraded from GPS v2.04 to the latest. I have also run TTN2 without Checkpoint and the problem still persists. |

I am running a loox with 64Mb, I can't recall this problem before 2.08 so I might revert to 2.06, if I can find a copy. |
