|
|
Newbie question,
I have an XDA Exec running WM5 and TT5.2, I have added the speed camera database to my GB maps and they show up as Poi’s. Is their a way to add different warnings in addition to the Bugle and cow sounds that are preinstalled.
I have tried to find where the preinstalled files are without success.
Any help appreciated
Thanks Steve |

The warning sonds are contained in the programs/ navigator/ data.chk file, you can download alternate data.chk files from this site or ray flanagans site (I hope I spelt that correctly), the vs for 5,1 works fine with the 5,2 TT software, I use the Liz voice files from rays site on the Exec and it all works what you cannot do at the moment is the POIExtend when running 5,2 - it will come later on, welcome to the forum, can't give links to the specific pages as I am mobile at the moment, will update post later - Mike |

Thanks for the welcome Mike,
When you can, will you post a link to Ray's site.
From what I can remember of TT3, speed camera warning sounds came with Checkpoint and were wave files is this still the case with TT5.2?
Cheers

TT5 does not use .wav files the links you need are here
from this site http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php
Make sure you select the correct file.
Or
http://www.tomtomsatnav.info/ (go for real voice warnings), why not get the matching voice direction files at the same time from the same site (voice skins)
I would recomend as a minimum that you re-name the existing data.chk to old_data.chk before doing this, preferably you should back-up your device before doing this.
Hope the above is of some use - Mike |
