|
|
New TTN5 user, installed on Palm TX, USA. Everything working fine.
I normally keep BT (and Wi-Fi) turned off on my TX to conserve battery power when these functions aren't needed. When I start TTN5, it continually asks me if I want to turn on BT. This happens whether or not I have an active route.
To be fair, it might be the TX, rather than TTN5, or some interaction between them, but it's pretty annoying. It pretty much forces me to turn on BT whether I want to or not.
Any solutions, work-arounds to this? TX only, or the same on other devices? I don't see anywhere in TX's preferences relevant to this behavior.
Thanks. |

It's a TX issue. _________________ Lutz

If the Tomtom software demands bluetooth is active whenever it is running then there isn't much you can do about it.
If you want b/t to switch on automatically when you launch Tomtom, then switch off again (or revert to previous state) when you exit Tomtom, try a program called Bluefang (freeware). At least you won't be bothered by the message any more... :D
Don't know if it works on TX (yet) - only one way to find out!

Just found this which might help (if you're prepared to pay for a solution):
http://www.whizoo.com/apps/bttoggle.php
The professional version claims to be able to 'lie' to applications about the bluetooth status being 'on when it is really 'off'. This might fool Tomtom into shutting up for you... |

OK, I figured out a work-around. When I open up TTN5, and it asks to turn on BT, I'll click on OK and let it connect. Then while still in TTN5, I'll disconnect BT. TTN5 will ask one more time to connect, I'll hit cancel, and then it won't ask anymore.
A little cludgey but only takes a few seconds.

Nope, does it all on all Palms it your using the 5.12 update ;) With 5.0 it asks a couple of times then gives up.
Another annoying addition in the 5.12 update was the automatic turning on of the phone on the Treo's |
