I'v just started using checkpoint as opposed to gpsassist.
Is it possible to have multiple POI files for 30 mph cameras, 40mph etc. That way warnings need only fire if you are over the speed limit.
If so could the PocketGPS database be supplied as a series of files. _________________ dave c |

CheckPOInt has this facility but at present our database does not have the necessary information to seperate it by enforced speed limit.
Thanks to the availability of CheckPOInt it is now very easy for readers to record location, type and speed and gradually many more camera sites are being submitted with this data.
If you have cameras in your area that we already have in our database it would be useful if you could re-record them capturing type and speed data. If you do this it is important that you note in your email that they contain this additional information. We can then update the existing entries with this information.
Hopefully once the majority of the database is updated we will then release it broken down by speed. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren,
I've got some of the source data for the sets of Cameras we've combined to get to the database we have now
Do you have a spreadsheet or similar where you keep the current data and I can check against the data I have and add speed info.
Or maybe something that can be made available to everyone (either everything to do a check, or just the ones you don't have data for), and then we can resubmit to you any updates
What do you think?

Agreed. At the moment the only way we can used Checkpoint with speed is to list each seperate speed as a seperate POI file (i.e 1 file for 30s, 1for 40s etc)
Plus it looks like specs cameras need to be dealt with seperatley (the database just combines them at the moment) so that checkpoint 3 can do its stuff. |
