I’ve been reading this forum with great interest, as someone currently without GPS who is looking into buying an entry level system (I now make a lot of site visits for work, and also think it would be useful for leisure activities).
From reading reviews and comments on these forums, I believe the TomTom would be the best product to go for, and ideally the GO 500 looks the best option, but I’m aware of the new ONE that’s coming out.
I would happily wait for the ONE, as I understand there are big improvements to the processor (I know nothing about the whole GPS specifics in this regard, if it isn’t already obvious).
However, although I don’t use my mobile too much, the Bluetooth (hands free) that comes with the 500 would be useful. Also, the maps covering the main roads in Europe could expand my horizons (I rarely drive abroad, mainly because of the uncertainty that GPS would, hopefully, remove).
I’m pretty sure the ONE does not come with the above, and I don’t know how long I’d need to wait for the successor to the GO 500 to come out. Can anyone tell me if the ONE is likely to be upgraded for the above, or any details on a successor for the 500??? |
