took some advice and decided to go for a Holux GPSlim236
been looking around the net for suppliers (easiest route was via Holux site list) and the price difference was, well, I'm lost for words...
retailer A: £137.95 inc P+P
retailer B: £86.83 inc P+P
same item, £51 difference... WTF ?? 8O
BTW, if anyone can beat £86.83 I'd be interested _________________ SW

Hi Soweezy,
A certain retailer that advertises heavily on this site, but has (unfortunately) appeared quite frequently in the "retailers to ... avoid" section is currently offering it at £84.35 inc VAT and delivery.
Too good to be true? But perhaps a better bet than eBay?
Cheers, Alan. _________________ Garmin GPS72H/76/60/45, Etrex H, Mapsource v6.5.

£75 inc P&P on ebay from Taiwan. Declared low value and "gift" should most tie avoid taxes.
Loaded with latest firmware - Seller "Merchantrun" |

not in the slightest, Mio is an excellent piece of kit and my setup works flawlessly
it's just the having to carry the Mio and phone around with me, or forgetting to pick up the Mio on the way out etc.
if I hardwire a BT GPS in the car I only need carry the phone _________________ SW

Hi SO,
Did the purchase turn out OK? Did you buy from the advertising retailer, or manage to find another UK one that would price match?

A lot of the differences in price come from the level of support/service the company can offer. You will always get things cheaper on ebay but if you have any problems then it is the risk you take, alot of units are imported from accross the globe and if you have to return the goods take a guess in some cases where you have to send it. Dont get me wrong they are a lot of companies out there that will be slightly cheaper than the next, + you can get mistakes on web sites. _________________ Regards
