Hi
I have just installed some new POI files, car parks. When I choose show map, the map is drawn then the i3 shuts down. Doesn't seem to stop it from navigating though.
Any thoughts |

I've seen this mentioned elsewhere. It may be something to do with the icon bitmaps being too large. If it's a POI for something other than the i3, the bitmaps may need editing or replacing.

This appears to happen with the 2.60 firmware, changing back to 2.50 will also resolve this.

Thought i would try the 2.60 Firmware update. When i went to custom points & chose any one from my list, then any one from the next list then show map mode the screen froze. I had no problem with version 2.50 when doing this.
So i thought i would try jeffg solution and resized all my bitmaps to 22x22 & also reduced all the 16 bit ones down to 8 bit. Tried it again & no frozen screen.
This freezing/crashing will happen more often as more people who have just bought theirs will either have 2.60 already on or they will be updating to this version.
I know this seems a bit extreme, but i haved saved these new resized bitmaps & when i download any new poi updates i will delete the new bitmaps replacing them with my resized ones.
I know it still works ok when navigating, but unless Garmin fix this bug in there next update, (they must have changed something as 2.50 version worked ok) then a lot of i3 owners will not be too happy if it keeps crashing after they have downloaded there poi's. |

The bmp's are my own made to 20 x 22px, but may be 18bit, will try again at 8bit.
