I think we're more likely to see the new One first before the Rider, which is kind of stupid as the One is based on the Rider. It's a bit like releasing the sequel to a film before the original one has been shown |

Hi guys
Ive been waiting ages for the rider. I despatch on a bike for a living in London, so it will make my life a lot easier especially when I get sent to outside the M25 radius! - postcode search a must, anything else takes too long
Anyway after getting hacked off with waiting and the delays I contacted the distributors for the UK - datatool.
The rider will be on display at the NEC and there will be retailers there also where you can actually buy one!
They will be in shops according to datatool a week from Monday (if retailers have ordered them)
Below are the copies of datatoold emails responses to myself - I'll let you know how it gets on being used to death day in day out on a despatch bike!
Cheers Jon
Quote: | Dear Jonathan,
Our official launch of the TomTom RIDER product will be at this Years NEC. If you are attending the NEC this year, please visit our stand T159 in Halls 1&2. We will be able to direct you to one of our retailers at the show. From the week commencing 7th Nov we will be shipping to dealers nationwide (provided they have ordered).

Good luck with your purchase.

Yes - I was at the NEC Trade Day yesterday and can confirm that TomTom have the Rider. I can't recall the stand number, but it is very close to the Race Paddock area.
The device looks rather good, but they'd let themselves down with the bar mounts as the two example bikes had the thing flapping around like Marlyn Monroe's skirt in that famous photograph. _________________ Regards,

I think we have to jog darrens elbow to remind him that the rider is on sale at the NEC and that he is the one that has been trialing the rider so his is the reveiw that we are all waiting for . It must be time for the non disclosure clause to be removed
So DARREN where is the reveiw
DARREN
Do you think he heard us _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

Guy's, I don't need my memory jogging about the RIDER. I'm itching to tell all but we are not yet able to. The embargo is still in force but I am in contact with TomTom to see what gives. _________________ Darren Griffin |

When I talked to tomtom at the NEC, they said that the reason why it was taking so long was checking they where waterproof. Lets hope that they don't leak!!!!!
Darren should know. |
