Does anybody know if the NAVMAN 4410 using Smart ST V3 will work with new O2 XDA Exec as I thinking about trading up from XDA II which has served me very well to the new O2 XDA Exec. |

I asked this of Navmans Tech Support. attached is the thread:
=============================================
To Tech support
Hi. I understand from our previous emails that SmartST v3 on the 4410 do not currently work on either the XDA IIi or the XDA Exec.
Are you currently working on an update to allow it to do so in the future?
-------------------------
Dear Sir
The newest version of our software, the one after version 3, is SmartST2005, which is just on the market, will work fine with your unit, unfortunately we cannot confirm completely that it will support high resolution LCD displays, as the testing of this is not yet completed. If you could perhaps ask us again in a few weeks we will be able to aswer your question more precisely.
Kind regards,
Dorthe Hedeboe

=======================================
Hi Dorthe
Following on from your last reply, I am wondering if you are any further on with your testing of High resolution LCD displays?
Many thanks
-------------------------------------------------
Dear Kenji,
Well, the conclusion of the testing is now that the SmartST2005 works fine and support high resolution screens quite OK and fine - anything before that version, as said before, will not work.
If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us, we'll be more than happy to help.
Kind regards,
Dorthe Hedeboe

Hi Fluffy Clouds, Thanks for posting the information, which is very interesting as I was about to buy Co-Pilot V6 which will work on the o2 EXEC as confirmed by there Tech Support.
I have checked on the NAVMAN web site and I can't find any information on SmartST2005, do have or know where I can find out more info on SmartST2005. |

Hi again
I already have a 4410 with SmartST v3 which I use via bluetooth on an XDAII. I have now now just got an XDA Exec via 02 so I have been hoping for the upgrade as well :D
After the last email from tech support, I emailed sales and was told:
Dear Sir
Unfortunately we do not have the 2005 maps available for the 4410 at present, we hope to have this software available within the next month, would you like us to contact you when it is available?
Kind regards
navman-store.com support team
I dont know if this is the same for the Co-Pilot you are after but I guess emailing them is the thing to do. Be prepaired to wait a couple of days for a reply though.
Have fun |

I have emailed NAVMAN several times with no response, I consider your information very valuable being as I can't get NAMAN to reply to my emails.
I'll give it another go before I ditch NAVAMN for good and go with Co-Pilot being as they released there software on the 1st Nov |

Following your last post, I have been reading up on the Co-Pilot. It would definitely seem to work with our Execs and unlike Navman, they also offer future upgrades at reduced costs. Have you come across any direct comparisons between Co-Pilot and Navman?
Reading the co pilot 6 upgrade thread over on the CoPilot Live forum, there seem to be a few more problems with CPv5 than I have been experiencing with SmartST v3. What do you think? Maybe, as they are hoping, they will all be sorted in CPv6.
From what I can tell, we may end up paying again for Navman 2005 which may be little more than v3 made compatible with Windows Mobile 5 |

I've had good look around and I can't find any comparasions with the NAVMAN, one plus point for Co-Pilot is that I have emailed them two questions and they answered both, for me at the moment it looks like Co-Pilot will be the one to go with, unless someone else can point me in the right direction for some more reviews.
They confirmed that the current BT anttena I'm using is compatable with there system, I only need to go for the sofware/maps which I was looking to update anyway. |
