|
|
I am running the above combo with the Emtac located on the front corner of the windscreen, but after about 1 - 2 hrs with the sun on the unit everything hangs, and then re-booting the Ipaq sorts it for about 5 mins and then it hangs again. Anybody have any ideas? |

two things
1) Make sure infrared beam receive is disabled. Sometimes the sun can confuse the IR receiver
2) It does get hot there, and the PPC display tends to overheat. Try to position the PPC closer to the air condition. _________________ Lutz

Ok, I have disabled the IR, but the pocket pc is right next to the aircon vent. It is the Emtac that gets hot.
I'll see what disabling the IR does. thanks |

I had the same problem with my Emtac when it was in full sun, I now have mine on the centre console under the handbrake lever it works fine. It only seems to lose a couple of sats. _________________ www.gadjetsblog.blogspot.com |

Yup you have to disable all beams
To prove it (with beams enabled) I placed tissue over the top of the IPAQ.
Everybody I tell looks in dis-belief but its repeatable.
Only happened when the sun was high in the sky - but its not a heat problem ! |

well, it's some kind of heat problem after all - IR is heat radiation... _________________ Lutz
