|
|
Hi,
I have downloaded and hopefully installed the 5.1 upgrade to my Mio, however the install process seemed to stick, and I am unsure if it has proceeded correctly. TT5 seems to work ( at my desk anyway) but is there any way I can check the version number? _________________ Leigh

To check which version you are running:
Launch TomTom
Select 'Change Preferences'
Select 'Show Version' If the App Version is 5.100 then the update has been installed successfully _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren,
Thanks for your reply. The reason I can't find the version is that I have set up my own menu system, and the Show Version option is not there
I guess I will have to run the menu program again to put it back? _________________ Leigh

No you don't. Start tomtom, then tap the bottom right corner (where it shows the satellites). The version number should show in the white box on the right hand side. |

Many thanks lupos0_1,
The upgrade obviously didn't work, it still shows verion 5.000
I will try and run it again, and come back if it still doesn't work properly. _________________ Leigh

I have tried rerunning the update, after restoring the backup I took before I first tried, and it still does not work.
I doubleclick the exe file, and get to a TomTomSetup screen, agree to the conditions, and click the forward arrow. The next screen shows files being transferred, but nothing then happens. The program will not close and I had to shut it down with Task Manager.
It seems to just lock up.
Any ideas? _________________ Leigh

If you're using XP, you could try emptying the 'temp' folder in your profile.Click on Start, select Run and type %temp%, then press OK.
Delete all the files in the Temp folder.
Re-Run the upgrade. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Download the ZIP file from TomTom's web site, that usually works OK, the .exe file seems to have these install issues. |

Hi folks,
Thanks for your input, someone has removed the last few posts from this thread -- why??
Anyway I have tried both options suggested and neither works
Empying the temp folder and rerunning the upgrade made no difference.
The zip file method did not even get as far as the TomTom Setup screen before locking up. Any thoughts? _________________ Leigh

The only thing I can suggest is a FULL backup of your current setup, then a hard reset, trying a clean install, if that does not work then at least you can revert back to your current setup via the backup you just made. |

Check the following:
- Run the latest version of Active sync. I put the latest version here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync38.mspx
- Put the partnership on guest in Active sync.
This should let you install the software.
Let me know if it worked.
Ciao for now |
