I hope you are right - insurance has just got approved and they are shipping a replacement TTG 300 - so no choice re changing to an Ipaq. Not bad news as I do love the TTG 300 - however I would like to see Tom Tom take security VERY seriously. Make it clear what a locked product code will mean (my old units produce code has now been locked. As well as make the device also more secure in itself - a password mechanism which cannot be circumvented would seem the best bet)

These need to be publised to reduce the likelihood of theft.

On another note did we ever get screen shots of the smaller mount that was indicated earlier on in this thread. At the moment velcro seems the best option - anyone any thoughts on this?

tals,
I don't know whether you were referring to my post or not, but if you were, there is no pics as yet. Dig camera being delivered next Monday, so hopefully by next Tuesday night I will have something for you and anyone else to look at and poke fun at.
I will say that it does work and accomplishes everything I set out to do.

Absolutely - your solution sounds interesting - particularly if you can give some tips how we can do likewise Smile.

As a suggestion this site http://www.imageshack.us/ will host the pictures free an dwill give you the html required to embed the image in a forum like this.

tals,
This is the only photo I have taken with my phone. This is not the finished thing, but a wooden pattern I made to send to the foundry.

That does look neat - I assume the mount is the bit we can't see. Do you mind me asking how much the foundry charged and would they make more - i.e copies of yours?

No idea as to price as yet, I suspect to make it affordable, multiple patterns will need to be made. I will have a better idea after the weekend.

GPS theft is becoming more common as the initiatives against mobile phones increase. GPS are much more expensive than phones.

Pocket GPS world has started a forum that is supported by all police forces to list stolen GPS.

ALso visit www.menduk.org to enable to list any items with serial numbers

Absolutely nothing to do with GPS, but a lot to do with keeping a record of electronic equipment, including those using GPS technology. I hope I answered your question to your satisfaction.

I have managed to take some photos of the mount I have had made. As I have said previously, it satisfies my needs, in that it is quick to remove & leaving very little evidence that a TT may or may not be left in the car.
It does require a proclip or similar to be fitted.
I would appreciate any comments whether they be good or bad.
Thanks

There is a view fitted in a Fiesta and later in a Megane. It took approx 10secs to change from one car to the other.
