Having used your excellent website to research which GPS unit and Handheld to buy for my car. I am torn between using Navman but I am beginning to come to the conclusion that I should go for the TOM TOM Navigator 2 UK and an Ipaq. I like the 3d views of Tom tom plus it will take speed camera maps where I believe Navman will not.
I am still debating which Ipaq to go for, the 3970 which seems excellent as regards the screen display quality but is now now superceeded, or to spend even more money and go for the 5450 or 5550.
I have seen the Tom Navigator 2 UK hardware and software for sale at www.navcity.co.uk for £269.99 including vat. The Ipaq 3970 is £374 including vat at www.clove.co.uk
Has anyone seen a particularly good deal anywhere on these units? |

That's correct, Navman currently does not have a 3D view, nor do they have any option to add customisable Points Of Interest (POI's).
What do you need in terms of features ? Do you need WiFi or will Bluetooth suffice ? If Bluetooth then for £350 I'd recommend the new iPAQ 2210. They're nice and small, packed with features and have a bright screen and loud speaker.
Take a look at our sponsors which can be found on the main news page and all articles/review pages (right hand side), you should find a bargain at one of these stores. |

I bought my ipaq 3970 for £298.99 at Staples 3 or 4 months ago. Don't pay £374!
Staples are currently selling the ipaq 5450 for £379 (Link).
Try Pricerunner.com for bargains on the net. (Unfortunately Staples prices which always seem competitive don't appear on Pricerunner's searches) |

Thanks for that, I have had a look at the IPAQ 2210 but the case and the screen is much better on the 5450.
The best price I have so far is -
Compaq IPAQ H5450 £379
128MB Secure Digital Card £ 39
Tomtom Navigator II Kit £199
Tomtom to 5400 cable £ 17
All items are less VAT
