Still, I'm not surprised that Tim's being asked to activate the firmware - I had to when I went from 4.42 to 5.0. Lots of others did too. Others didn't and the theory of the day was that it was down to changing SD cards. Ho hum.
Regards,
Mark.
OK - it IS asking me for the product code when all I want to do is upgrade the firmware
I'm not sure I can be arsed finding/scanning old bank statements to prove I own a device that is sitting on the desk in front of me And the irony is that if I don't, I can't give TomTom my money for the newer maps either.

Round of applause to TomTom management.
Tim - If all you want to do is upgrade the firmware, you only need to run the ttgoupg500.exe (510,520 or 5201) and this will update the firmware.
If you want to upgrade your maps (a seperate issue), you will need the Product Code. Did you save your Product details on TomTom's website, under My Products? If so you can retrieve all the information from there. _________________ Richard

Oldboy,
Both Tim and I have said (pretty clearly, I thought) that we were required to activate the firmware upgrade. Why do you think we're making it up?
