Has anyone had problems with the screen alignment on their Mitac Mio 168's or Navman PiN's ?

I quite frequently find a problem where the MIO has been off for 3 or 4 days and then suddenly when I power it on, there's a screen alignment problem. Even performing a hard reset causes the same screen mis-alignment and you have to navigate your way into the alignment program to re-align your screen, but sometimes it won't re-align properly for a number of attempts.

Just wondered if others have experienced this ?

I have the same problem (Mitac Mio 168 Navman PiN). I tried aligning the screen but got the infamous alignment screen looping. I tried to soft reset and hard reset but it's still not aligning; and now it doesn't respond to my sylus at all in some places. Does this mean my screen is broken? Please help!

Thanks

I had a similar problem with my PiN100 but it wasn't related to being off for a couple of days. I had turned it on one afternoon and the screen was jittery without being touched. If I tried to use the digitizer, it was way off. I tried soft resets and hard resets. The problem would get slightly better after a hard reset but quickly came back. My unit was still under warranty so Navman replaced it. That experience was very frustrating. Navman claimed they didn't replace warranty units with re-furbs but instead used new open-box units. I never understood what that meant. The first replacement had deep gouges and scratches. The 2nd replacement would do a spontaneous hard reset as soon as you'd turn it on while connected to power. The 3rd replacement unit has been working fine. Navman won't do advanced replacements so you have to send in the defective unit and they send a replacement after receiving the bad unit.
