A few of us have had problems with the POI on tomtom 5, my problem was they were empty or not working....
I simply renamed the POI.DAT back up I had on PC to small case poi.dat and copied backonto PDA
Now it works, I don't know if this will work for everyone but did for me. |

I have a problem where some of the inbuilt POI's show empty when I do, find nearest POI but they do seem to show on the map, for example Hospitals says no POI found but if I look at the map H's all over the place. Unless anybody else has an idea I might try this fix. |

Isn't the missing POIs in the search dialogues the known bug that is only in cracked versions? |

Nope, happens in TT3 as well. My software is bought and payed for from TomTom. Have to re-install to get my POI back on the navigator map. |

Hi
No the problem is original and pirate editions I believe, I upgraded to 5.10 on TOMTOM off the website and did find it helps lock on GPS quicker as well.
Just get an original POI.DAT file and simple re-copy via PC and Active Sync overwriting the other POI.DAT and reboot PDA, this works on mine and a collegues of mine.
But on one I renamed the POI.DAT to poi.dat in small case and this worked when upper case wouldn't work! |
