Me too.
If I enter the proxy IP:port, my username and the password I get this error -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/tpeg/en/local/rtm/surrey_tpeg.xml
--------------------------------
There is an error in XML document (1, 44).
--------------------------------
The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.
--------------------------------
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<!DOCTYPE tpeg_document PUBLIC "-//EBU/tpegML/EN" "http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/xml/tpegml_en/tpegML.dtd">
<tpeg_document generation_time="2005-09-06T12:32:35+0">

I have truncated the rest of the file as it contains everything.
If I add my domain in the username field, "domain\username" I get this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/tpeg/en/local/rtm/bedfordshire_tpeg.xml
--------------------------------
The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.
--------------------------------
The former seems to be getting some info of some form.
What now? I am quite happy to test anything Richard. Just mail me.
Thanks |

Why do I update when things were working OK, I have updated to 0.3 and I can't select the folder to automatically syncronize with on my PDA any ideas? |

Err.. you've just got to know where to look cos it is, along with Route 66 and Trafficmaster.
Terran | To save me getting any more PMs - I won't say how, only that it can like any thing else. I'm not sure of the legality which is why Infomatics only uses the free widley available feeds.
TBH The TPEG feed is better than the ITIS ( TMC ) feed as it has more data. The DOT feed is better than Traffic Master as it has more sensors ( those new little green ones that look like the old TM overheads ) and sources of info - BOTH are free and there to be used. _________________ http://www.letscommunicate.co.uk/carpc/ |

Guys, althouth it is interesting reading about what can and cannot be done with this fantastic app, my view is that it works just fine so why re-invent the wheel.
What I want to know is how I view this in TT5 as previously posted. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or not doing as the case may be.
I get the feeds successfully uploaded to my SD card but don't know how to view in TT5. Given the previous posts, you guys must have this working so please remember the non technicallly minded out there and give us a simple how to guide.

SandyMac,
Assume you have the two files (bmp & ov2) placed in the Great_Britian folder.
Just a case of ticking the Offline... POI box in POI manager, sorry a little rusty on tt5 as I have tt3 loaded at present.
I'm sure someone will correct me if this is wrong, if this does not work I will load up tt5 and give more precise instructions.

I've just gone back to 0.2 and it's working fine, I couldn't get 0.3 to point to the folder I wanted to syncronize to, in fact it wouldn't point to any folder. |

I suppose one could develop a gprs plugin to automatically suck the data and convert it to ttn5 overlay in the background as tom tom is operational.
Im sure this must be relatively easy using dot net framework on pocket pc.
Im tempted to write it myself but dont know anything about ttn5 overlay format etc
Any one like to furnsih me with the info so i can develop the plugin

hoppy - was your pocketpc connected (with the active sync icon showing as greeen)?
gordiegord - I'd be interested in seeing the log file for the error in XML document 1,44, as I have seen this before but never been able to trap the error.
hogbreath - only changes in this version where inclusion of proxy username & password, and impropvements to the about screen display. |

Hi Richard
I have just taken a look at the ov2 file using POIEdit and if i remember correctly OTN analyses the data it gets from the Beeb and strips ot the duplicate entries.
I think that OTN is letting some duplicate by, eg
-0.6724 51.35175 "Surrey - Roadworks during off-peak periods on Grasmere Road at "
-0.6724 51.35175 "Surrey - Roadworks during off-peak periods on Grasmere Road at "
-0.6724 51.35175 "Surrey - Roadworks during off-peak periods on Grasmere Road at "
and
-0.53745 51.40064 "M25 Surrey - Restrictions both ways between J12 Thorpe Interch"
-0.53745 51.40064 "M25 Surrey - Restrictions both ways between J12 Thorpe Interch"
-0.53745 51.40064 "M25 Surrey - Restrictions both ways between J12 Thorpe Interch"
-0.53745 51.40064 "M25 Surrey - Restrictions both ways between J12 Thorpe Interch"
and
-0.48747 51.36068 "A318 Surrey - Temporary traffic lights on New Haw Road both way"
-0.48747 51.36068 "A318 Surrey - Temporary traffic lights on New Haw Road both way"
-0.48747 51.36068 "A318 Surrey - Temporary traffic lights on New Haw Road both way"
Just to name a few from a download at 8:15 this morning
As far as i can see there does not seem to be any differences between each group of entries.
