I've just had this exact prob, my tom tom 5 was working fine yesterday on my 6630, turned it on today and it says no maps found, the only option it offers is to register and download a map. But if I look in file manager the bloody maps are there! I can't even get into the prefrences in tom tom to change the maps etc... its dowload or quit.
Any help appreiciated, I'm off on a trip for work tomorrow and I could really do with it working! |

I had the same on my A1000 and my son on his N70.
On both occasions, the only answer I could find was to re-copy the map folder over the existing one on the memery card.
This over writes the existing files and all seemed well.
Only other problem was that the speed camera individual voices for the different speeds had to be re-input, and the same for any personally added POI's. |

I did reply here with a solution, though for some reason my response appears to have been scrubbed!
The file that was missing was Great_Britain.mid - if you just copy that across from your backup of the original card to your new card (or whatever card you're currently using in your phone) then everything should be as it was. The file's less than 1Kb so it should be a quicker solution than re-copying all the maps.
Can anyone tell me where my orignal post went? 8O |

Good for you. They won't be of use to anyone else as they need a code for them. |

Consider this your first and only warning. I'm not sure how this lasted so long without being spotted but do not offer maps of this nature on this forum or your account will be cancelled. _________________ Tim |
