|
|
A mate has been having problems with his BT338...
!st time, he took the battery out, and all was well....
Now the Green LED is not lighting up at all (Should be Constant green whilst trying to get a fix, and flashing green once a Fix is obtained)
any ideas??.....has he got a duff unit?
Cheers, |

No, the light is off when there's no fix. Constant green is not part of the signaling. _________________ Lutz

Umm......you sure???
I also have the 338.....I have a constant Green light when I first switch on, and it starts to flash when it gets a fix.
I have a constant Green light if I switch it on in the office (metal-clad building, no fix)......I can NEVER get a situation when I dont get some kind of green light....
I will take on board what you said, but will try to dig out the instructions when I get home |

Righty, my mate has his Installation CD from his 338 with him, and I just looked at the instructions....
GPS Status LED (Green)
Blinking---GPS position is fixed
Steady Light---- GPS position is not fixed
No mention of "no" green light
So, when he has no Green LED, does this mean its busted, and should get it repalced (Its less than 4 weeks old)?? |

Hmm.. Can't verify on my BT-338 (have it sent in for firmware upgrade) but will check when I have it back. Maybe it's just me getting older and more senile by the minute... _________________ Lutz

I couldn't possibly say anything negative, you guys have helped me out so much in the past few months!!...........
Whats this Firmware upgrade about then??......If mines working OK, should I not bother??......Mines only about 5 weeks old.....what are the chances of it having the "latest" level firmware? |

Does the bluetooth light flash or is this also broken?..if the bt light isnt flashing then could be a duff battery or connection.
The green light should be either on solid or flashing. |

The Blue light Flashes......once every 3 seconds for a a few moments, untill it connects to the PPC, then once a second......so we know its powering up...
1st time it happened, he pulled out the battery, re-connected, and it was fine.....but thats not working now.
Thanks for the input.... |

Hi, just to let you know that I had the exact same problem with mine, I contacted the manufacturer and explained the problem which they replied with "It is a hardware problem, please send it back for repair"
I sent it back and once returned worked perfectly
Hope this helps. |
