Thanks you guys for the advice. Maybe its something to do with my geriatric brain.
I tried loading to the appripriate memory card - not much good - didn't start TT5.1. Then removed and reinstalled to default installation folder - back to square 1.
Accessing from Menu 4 after clicking Navigate was also unsuccessful.
Two new observations:
1. Message from the IPAQ just after installation-
Quote: | Program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile Software |
2. Checkpoint Settings-Overlay Settings shows a folder called Not Synchronized , and when expanded shows the POI OV2 filename (no image).
If I run a Demo Route, Checkpoint does not pick up the POI.
Re observation 1 - Surely Windows Mobile 2003 SE isn't all that new. Mine is version 4.21.1088. Could it be that Checkpoint 5.0.2 is out of date??
Looks like I could soon be on the way to POI-warner!!

you must refresh the setting in the sync setting first.
you can not sync if you open CheckPOInt from within TT, Exit TT5 then start CP...do all the refresh/sync stuff then exit
Open tt, go to page 4 of the menu open checkpoint from there then click navigate that will take you back to TT with CheckPOInt running in the background.
That seems to work for me. Although I had to turn off the visual warning due to the flicker probelm.
Has anyone campared CheckPOInt to POIWarner?
is the POI database better on one than the other? |

Yeah, it is the better app and always has been.
Using it now, no issues at all, no flicking screen or anything daft. |

I have installed Checkpoint 5, and it seems to work fine - until I try to synchronise recorded POI. I get a message saying POIplace received incorrect parameters. Nothing has changed in my settings from V3 to V5 so where does this problem come from. I have e-mailed POIplace with no response and cannot find an e-mail address for Checkpoint!
Any ideas? |

What's with the "Not Synchronised" anyhow?
Mine works fine with the .ov2 and .bmp files copied manually into the maps directory and enabled for display within TomTom, and with the appropriate overlay settings in CheckPOInt. The fact that it isn't "synchronised" doesn't seem to have any adverse effect. |
