|
|
Hey,
Having bought tomtom5 for my pda I have now sold my copy of tomtom3. However, the person who is installing it says it is asking for activation / product code. I do not ever remember activating tomtom3 and am pretty sure it just did a astright install from the cd's. What do they need to progress the install? If it matters, it was 3.03 and an upgrade cd to 3.07...
Many thanks for any help,

this is from the tomtom site you may find this of interest:
Question
I am having trouble activating a second hand TomTom Navigator.
Answer
TomTom Navigator requires online software activation. All copies of TomTom Navigator are sold with a product code. This product code can be used to activate the software on one device. Click Here to download the full version of the TomTom License agreement.
Second hand TomTom Navigator products are likely to have already been activated once or more by the first buyer and the product code may therefore no longer be valid. For this reason we advise our customers not to purchase TomTom Navigator second hand. If you have already purchased a second hand TomTom Navigator product and cannot activate the software, we suggest you return it to the seller.

If you bought the upgrade to TT5, then your copy of the old TT3 that you supplied details of to TomTom for the upgrade will have been cancelled, or whatever the phrase is, so you cannot sell it on, and It will not be able to be (legally) activated.
