Cracked IT
After going round the houses I think this is all you need to do copy PIMadddin.cab and PIMaddin.ini (Not sure if you need this one) to The root directory on your PDA storage card.
Next using Explorer via activsync double click on PIMaddin.cab and the file will Install, Bingo contacts now function properly.
I think that the procedure but I originally copied files and then uzipped them into subdirectory created by winrar from pc, This didnot work so then tried double clicking on cab file and worked, I was that pleased to have got working I have not backtracked yet to remove the other stuff, but will report unless somebody else does first |

Yes It works on the standard outlook contacts, do not know about others. for some reason my pda (mio 168) did not have the PIMaddin files, these i had to copy and paste from Installation disk, then all that is needed is to double click from explorer and these then extract into a self created directory. only had 168 for about 3 days so still finding my way around it. |

I did everything as suggested for 5.0 and 5.1 but this still doesn't work. The contact application doesn't show the two options Navigate To and Show on Map.
Have noticed that the patch installs a new program TOMTOM Contact Navigator. The content is a list of dll for different languages and a bigger one . Opening this dll as a note, I can see a lot of names of PPC: mine is not included. Could this be the reason?
My PPC is a Cassiopeia e200i with pocket2002.Will a Hard Reset be advisable?
Thanks a lot

I cannot find program "Contact Navigator", only thing can see is a new sub directory >Contacts Navigation created in program files Directory, this does contain 19 Pimaddinxx.dll files which do look like different language files and one other at 116kb which does contain reference to my PDA which is Mitac digiwalker running under pocket pc 2003 second edition, dont know if this helps, If not perhaps somebody with more knowledge than me can help |

In fact TTN5 creates a folder which contains the list of dll you are referring to. Those dll should be called by the system when launching Contacts application to insert the two alternatives but this doesn't work for me. A PPC specialist is maybe needed.
Thanks a lot anyway.

I accept what you are saying, i think my problem was that my installation did not appear to create this directory, and would appear that it is not the same problem as yours. |

Sorry for the delay, only just seen the long tread.
To get "navigate to" and "show on map" options when you click and hold a contact in contacts application, just find the above file on your TomTom 5 CD (located in folder "pocketpc") and copy across to your PDA. Open file exporer on PDA and run the cab file. You should now have the 2 new options when clicking on a contact. |

Hi Fandangobelch,
did this many times trying also many alternatives (move on SD, reinstall TTN5, put in root , in different folders etc..) but the result is always the same : navigate to and show on map do not appear on my PPC...

Hello Gripp,
only Microsoft Contact should work: TTN5 adds two ddl inside the application: do not think this will work with A. Fusion. |

The reason this doesn't work with PI and AF is that, yet again, TomTom have decided to do things differently to everyone else, and s*d the consequences. They can't even argue it's due to a need for compatibility across platforms, because the PPC is the only one that allows this feature anyway.
There is a very well established system on the PPC that allows third party developers to produce plugins for Pocket Outlook. Both PI and AF support Pocket Outlook plugins, and always have done, but TomTom have not used that system in TTN5 (they did in previous versions), instead doing their own thing and leaving PI and AF users out in the cold. I don't know about AF, but I can confirm that PI works just fine with ALL other Pocket Outlook plugins.
I'll contact Alex Kac (PI developer) through the beta programme to see if there is anything he can do, but really it's up to TT to stop ignoring compatibilty and start using the tools provided to them.

I have been unable to get this to work, my Ipaq 3970 runs Pocket PC 2002.
Here is the reply from TomTom support which may explain the problems some of us have had.
"Thank you for your e-mail.
Navigation via Contacts with TomTom Navigator 5 only works with Microsoft Mobile 2003.
With best regards,
