|
|
After Googling for ages I am struggling to find anywhere with the external antenna (for Go 700) in stock, has anyone purchased one recently?. I am off to France shortly and with a French car and windscreen I may struggle for good reception.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Michael |

After looking a bit closer at that one on ebay it looks like it is the old antenna for the classic. So unless you can adapt it then it will not fit the 700. |

Thanks for the replies, have rung every supplier I could find on the net (about twenty!!) not one got any stock. Tried to get one from ebay, dropped out in the seventies!!, it went for over £80!!.
I have to say it seems to me a ridiculous situation that TOMTOM have created where there are no anttenna anywhere, especially for those of us with windscreens that impair the units performance.
I am off to France next week with a unit that struggles with signal strength because of the windscreen, very dissapointing, will have look in France for one but imagine they are in even shorter supply over there.

Michael,
I have just clicked the link for total pda and they claim to have the aerial in stock. Might be worth a call!
Cheers

Thanks Fatmanscoop but I have already tried both, Amazon give a delivery time of one to two weeks and that is a guesstimate, it could be longer, need one before then.
I contacted the other seller direct and he has none, it's suprising how many internet sites say they have stock and when you call they haven't any.
Thanks anyway Michael |

Yes sites that advertise goods as in stock which aren't are quite common; in this day and age it is unacceptable; wasting time and causing stress! |

Well I have dealt with them and found them reliable. I did advise to call them to double check just to cover myself. I have been stung by other companies who do same as you suffered and I can sympathize with you.
Needless to say I won't be recommending this particular supplier in the future! |

we put a order in with pda online also 3 days ago
now only to find out they also do not have the item in stock
no emails or phone call from this company to tell us this by the way
i thought i would call them , to find out where the order is
and they are saying 1-2 weeks yet when i bought or should i say paid it said i will get the goods in 24hours
why ask customers for contact numbers and email address if they dont use them
pda online and total pda big waste of my time(beware) |

Has anyone tried to take there TomTom out of the car with Athermic Heat-Reflecting Windscreens and get the satalite signal then install into the car?? it works for me, if I put the Tomtom in the car first and switch on I don't get a signal at all, but when I put the tomtom on the roof of the car I get a good signal and leave it switched on then put into the car it work fine. _________________

Gave it a quick go today, didn't help much, then again I only managed to get a signal strength of 3 before I put it in the car, then it lost evrything instantly. What make of car are you using btw.?
It is an interesting idea though. |
