Can anyone help me here ? I am travelling around Europe soon and as such have added more maps to my SD Card (512MB). I purchased a second SD Card (512MB) to add further maps. I have copied these maps to the second SD card but when I insert it into my PDA, TT5 will not "find" these maps on the second card. Any ideas ? |

Sorry, I dont know hte answer to your question, but intend to do the same thing (my 1G card is full with just GB & France & Germany.....plus all the other "stuff" on it), so I was going to get either another 1G, or 512 card to do the same, so I would be interested in how to get it to work...

I would have thought the simplest way is to copy the content of the current SD card to the new one (except the map data of course) then add the new maps to the second SD card ? _________________ SW

I had a problem with my (cheap 6 in 1) card reader corrupting all of the files on the card if I copied more than 250MB of data onto it. Of course, upon inserting it into my PDA there are no maps to be found.
After numerous tests I found the corruption was taking place upon ejection of the card from the reader.
For the time being I'm having to use the long, drawn out process of transfering large map data via Activesync! |

For what it is worth, I have different maps on a combination of SD and CF cards and TT5 reads them all ok depending on which card is installed. Just "Change Prefernces" then "Switch Maps".
Could be a faulty card?

Hi brunlea99
I have just returned from the continent with TT5 and have used various maps. Great Britain on one card and France and Belgium on another card. On arriving in Calais I had to change cards and the Tomtom couldn’t find the new map. All I done was a soft reset (only takes a few seconds) and all was well. Later I had to change from France map to Belgium map and to that all one had to do was go to Tomtom/ change preferences/switch map and select Belgium. |
