Hi Mate,
Mine works in a focus no problems.
AFAIK its the althermic windows that are in certain European cars that the problems start ie later Renaults,Citroens etc.
If you search around on here someone will have posted a list i'm sure.

Oh dear I seem to buck the trend. When my Tom Tom 500 was mounted on velcro on the right hand side of the dashboard in my Ford Focus it worked fine. When I got the Brodit mounting kit which placed the unit below the level of the windscreen I had frequent problems getting a fix. This was solved by the external aerial..which I placed in the right hand corner of the dashboard where the unit had sit previously. Now get very reliable fixes. |

That's more likely to have occurred because you had the GO in a position where it could not obtain a decent sky view, that's not related to the heated screen itself though. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have a Mondeo with heated screen.
When mounted in central position TT will maintain sat fix 98% of time, if the signal is marginal due tall buildings, trees etc. then it can lose the fix.
Never happens in wifes Fiesta (no heated screen).
Mounting TT close to pillar on either side of screen seems to cure this problem. |

I too have a brodit mount for my TT300. I placed mine to the left of the wheel, just above the right hand corner of the stereo, same place as yours??
Mine works perfectly haven't had any problems at all yet, touch wood.

Yes that's the spot - just over the driver's central airvent. Fixes became very erratic until I got the external aerial. As was mentioned above this may well have been down to lack of sky but it was noticeable how much the signal strength dropped even though you could still see the unit when standing at the front of the vehicle looking over the bonnet or looking down from above. |

My fiesta has a heated screen and ive no problem with the GPS. I have mine mounted to the far right so its by the steering wheel so theres an area of screen there thats clear of the heating elemetns anyway but even center screen it works flawlessly. |

Hi, I have tried mine in a mondeo & fiesta with heated screens, and whilst i can get a signal in the corner, i found if you look at the sat screen, its a pretty weak frantic signal usually only 3-5 sats half strength. After buying the antenna, all the sats are full strength and usually get 9-10 sats locked, sometimes 11.
I was ok with the weak signal like everyone else, but when I started driving through trees or tall buildings the TTG went mad! So decided to get the antenna, and certainly dont regret it! |

Not enougth to justify paying out £50 for an ext areil |
