Which file(s) did you use?
There can be 3 setups for speed cameras.
The first is a single file that contains all the cameras together, without any reference to what type. This is named pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2 and found in the 'single file version' folder.
Second is the 5 file version that divides the cameras into types. Gatso, Mobile, Specs, Redlight and Temporary. These you will find in the 'ov2 bmp' folder.
Third is the full 17 file version that divides the Gatso and Mobile files into speed zones. There are 7 each of the Gatso and Mobile files. These are found in the 'speed zoned/gatso/ov2 bmp' and speed zoned/mobile/ov2 bmp' folders. Add to these the Specs, Redlight and Temporary files as above.
I have not included the Continental file because you will only need this if going to the continent.. But should you want it , it's in the 'ov2 bmp' folder.
When you've decided which set you want copy each .ov2 file, and it's matching .bmp file to your map folder. Then setup the POI's in Manage POI. _________________ Richard

What system are you running? Some TT GOs will only handle up to 27 POIs.

It depends on whether you want just the full categories or speed zoned sub-categories. Have a read of the guide here for further help.

Just found your websites after comments made at Tom Tom website concerning speed cameras.
Firstly your instructions are so clear - BRILLIANT!
Installed database on my Tom Tom 300 and everything works perfectly. What a product!!. Will be making a finacial contribution when I can find my way back to the page. Thanks again |

I notice that the current version (3.074) of the Safety Camera Database warns of a number of SPECS cameras on the M42 northbound and southbound between junctions 3A and 7. I am interested to discover the basis for this information as no cameras are currently installed on this section of the M42, other than those needed for traffic monitoring.
A variable speed limit system comprising overhead gantries like those on the M25 has been installed on this section, but awaits the installation of speed cameras. SPECS cameras need to face oncoming vehicles and therefore cannot be installed in these locations as the gantries only seem to be able to accommodate rearward facing cameras such as GATSO's.
I would be interested if anyone has heard of new SPECS devices which may be able to detect and record the rear of vehicles. |

A colleague just spotted this article which points to a new GATSO camera which faces the rear of the vehicle and functions like a SPECS device. |

How do contributors to the database notify of cameras that have been removed? I noticed two today, both westbound on the A505 near Duxford:-
The first one is just after the A505/A1301 junction. The camera is still there but it has had a cover over it (with NOT IN USE written on it) for as long as I can remember.
The second is just after the junction to Heydon and Great Chishill. The camera has been removed. |

just for info:
for the new Garmin StreetPilot i3 using the POI software from garmin.com you can install the speed camera's in full (all 7129 of them) using the files in csv/other
also copy the bmp's from the 'ov2 bmp' folder into the csv other folder and it sticks the whole lot on in about 2 seconds. fantastic
cheers guys!

We are working on updating the Download page at the moment. When we have completed it will include a download for the Garmins as well. _________________ Mike Barrett |
