will try this later tonight on my 4700, as i still prefer the HMI of tt3 when combined with checkpoi (note tried the new vs for 5 and it locks my machine) i only want revised maps and i would be a happy bunny - doubtful it will work - will post results either way later - mike |

>I copied TT5 USA Map (e.g. District_of_Columbia-Map) to SD. <
Perhaps the North American maps being supplied with TT5 are really the 4.40 maps? These can certainly be used with TT3. I feel that given the collective brain-power applied but failing to getting the TT5 maps of Europe working in TT3, then it ain't possible. |

Maybe that's it. As I say, I've been using the great britain maps.
does make you wonder though. don't know whether there is some hashing algorithm used to validate the maps or if there's a hidden version number. Seems that it was only the version number that needed changing for ttgo maps.
But must be something more, as I even just tried copying the line, node, face etc. files and still didn't work
Is a real shame, because I simply cannot use TT5. Drive for about an hour and the roads just disappear and I have to soft reboot. Not good at 75mph. |

1. rename the tt5 map folder in the way that is accepted in tt3 so as the map files
2. use mid file from tt3
3. edit pna file to ver 362

Tried this and a whole lot more but still - "no maps found" message, there was another very detailed posting on here of how to do it that was taken down by Tim, it doesn't matter because that didn't work either - I am beging to thing that TT have encripted the map data in a different way and without vs5 (or above) you can't see the maps. Perhaps there is a file that can be coppied from TT5 into TT3 which will then work - not too sure though - still annoyed by the whole debacle where you own two licences but cannot interchange maps - stupid but probably down to the marketing people - Mike |

if you went through the upgrade then only have one license as by going through the upgrade you agree in the terms and conditions to exchange your tt3 license for a tt5 license this is clearly stated when you do upgrade i think the orginal poster uas in the usa as tt3 there was the the same as the tomtom navigation pack _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

This was an out right purchase of both products i.e. two independent licences, which were provided from the company I work for so I don't feel to be in breach of the aggreements with TT - perhaps they beg to differ?
The only reason I want vs5 maps on vs3 software is that I like the HMI of the earlier version - tt5 I do not like, although when using it on my XDA I put up with it, for the 4700 I prefer the "old" feel, but miss the M6 toll etc.
