Hi,
using iPaq 3970, TT Nav 2.22, and Navman GPS3000.
plan to get myself a new B/T GPS, but cant see a clear advantage between either the Emtac/Socket one or hte new TomTom one. Both seem v. similar spec, similar battery time etc.
Any one have any views on this?
I can see the Emtac one is a LITTLE cheaper, but not so much as to make it a clear choice.
Also, perhaps i'm thinking whilst the TomTom one looks smart in it's silver "shell", the Emtac one is more stealth-like for leaving in the car, and therefore less like to get nicked by some thieving low-life.
Any views greatly appreciated.

There is very little between them, the TomTom version will allow you to hard wire it into the car and have a docking station in-car, or if you want a docking station on your desk so you don't have to keep plugging in a charge cable, but that's about the only difference we've seen so far. |

I have seen it written that the TomTom version doesn't support SBAS (WAAS and EGNOS) - but this may have been a limitation of a pre-release version that won't translate into the final product.
For street navigation, SBAS is not required anyway.
