When I insert the set up disc in my PC I get the following error message.
TomTom Setup
File d:\nvapp\TOMTOMGO.mnu Line 0:
Error: Could not read menu file
I have re-booted the PC & tried again, with the same result.
Any ideas?
Did I just get a duff disc or is there anything else I could try? _________________ Andy |

You got a disc with the upgrade on?
I downloaded it from TomTom.
Anyway, to install it, I removed my PDA from the syncing stand, ran the setup.exe, and copied the folders that it generates to an easy to access location.
I then closed the setup, and re-synced my PDA.
I opened the file browser, and copied the .cab files to a location on my SD card, and ran them from the PocketPC's built in file browser.
I did it this way so in the event of a hard reset when I'm away from my PC, I could re-apply the upgrade. |

Hi Andy. I got exactly the same response when trying the update CD. I have emailed a question to Tomtom but as yet no reply (7 days waiting)
If anyone can help please reply. |

I assume this is the original TT3 to TT5 update which came on multiple disks and not the later so called bug fix update (which doesn't seem to fix anything on the bug list).
For the original poster.
Try creating a folder on the PCs hard disk
Copy the whole content from the CD to this folder
Go to the folder and double click on the file called 'setup'
and/or
Check the C:/Windows/temp folder
If there is already a file in there called setup.exe - delete it (you may have to reboot your PC first) |
