Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Tomtom allow free software upgrades to the users of its TTGo when the 300 was released recently?
If so, perhaps Navman might follow suit seeing that we are supporting the company's products? |

Just spoken to Handtec customer services, and they don't expect to have any stock for at least 2 weeks.... I'm guessing this would be the same for all retailers. |

I read in another forum, that's frequented by Navman people, that Holfords will be the first to get stock. I also read, for your info, that the 520's got the ST2005 software on BUT this will be released for the 510 in Autumn. |

..had a good play of the 520 and pleased to report that its pretty good.
Just a few tinkering here and there on the interface but its still the same software we've come to love! Just one down side, the postcode search takes a little longer as you now have to start from the uk as opposed to England on the 510. :D |

Have noticed it both Dixons and Halford's are now showing the 520 on their websites - both for £350 |

I'm thinking of buying the 520 from the Halfords website, can I put the safety camera database onto it the same as the 510? |

Does the 510/520 have one way streets programmed into it? |

The road attribute data is set in the map data but yes, the Navman maps do show one-way streets. Bear in mind that the flow of these streets is sometimes 'turned round' by the local authority so the data might not always be correct. (In the same way that traffic light junctions are sometimes shown as roundabouts and vice versa.) _________________ Tim |

Bought a 520 today, is there a way of removing the street names from popping up in the 3D view, it's annoying especially when on motorways and local streets keep popping up. |

Unfortunately no. It's one of things I had on my wishlist - a slider to increase/decrease the number of street names. |

Hi all,
I have just bought an NavMan iCN 520 from Halfords (£349.99) and what made my descision final was NavMans coverage of Europe, USA, Australia & New Zealand
I am well chuffed, it does 5 digit postcode (unlike 510) and has a multistop feature that lets you add a POI mid journey, then direct you back on route. I believe that the Back-on-Track function has imporoved, and it is v.quick so far. I'm not sure how much was touch screen on the iCN 510 but everything is touch based on the iCN 520.
My only negative comment is that the avoid area feature seems to have a hit or miss success.
I have successfully loaded oodles of POI data, either in direct CSV or converted from OV2 (Speed Cameras, Shops, National Trust, Banks, Hotels)
Buy one today, I am not looking back. Shame about the Bluetooth/GPRS but Australian maps were a must!!
With regards to Map version, it still says Teleatlas 2004, so I wouldn't worry if you have an iCN
Hope this helps

Err - the 510 has always had this - and all the other features. Gald you're happy though. |
