Anyone able to help with this?
I am having difficulties with the POI alert feature, which I am trying to use in conjunction with the safety camera database on pocketgpsworld.com
I am importing the camera data to the “Custom” POI category, and exporting with CoPilot’s own built-in (out-of-date) camera database deselected on export.
When I enable “all” categories and “all” types of alerts it correctly detects the cameras, but it also detects a lot of other things, as expected, making it hard to use.
When I enable alerts for just the “Custom” POI category and “all” types it doesn’t appear to do anything, no warnings are displayed, however when I search for the nearest “Custom” POI on the phone it does correctly show the nearest cameras, proving that the Custom POI information is correctly stored to the phone. The POIs are also visible on the map in planning mode.
Any suggestions welcome

i had (still have !!) the same problem, I say had because after using co pilot for approx 2-3 days the alerts started working. I had not altered any settings within those few days and infact i was travelling the exact same route each day . I have been testing this product for a company for a few months now and this is the one fault that is quite annoying, it happens every time you download new data from the pc to memory card(especially with custom POI's). I have contacted ALK on several occasions via e-mail, but had very little response. P.S. despite the UK website saying don't ALK have told me to use the updated patch .60 currently obtainable from the north american website and have promised that the .60 patch will be available and recommended soon ! |

Just wondering, are you in the USA or Europe? _________________ Gone fishing! |

I'm in the UK.
The 1.0.1.69 update won't fix the POI not alerting problem, because I also get the same problem with my SDA. The speed cameras appear as a small red dot on the map as I'm driving, but they never alert (I have all custom POIs set to alert). May test by enabling all POIs (all categories) and see if this works. |

It's interesting that you get the .69 version. I didn't think that this had been localised for Europe and the latest version on ALK's website for European users is .46
Does your CoPilot .69 refer to "Circles" or "Traffic Circles" (USA version) or does it call them "Roundabouts" (as the UK versions do)?
Unfortunately, it's all a bit academic since most of the serious bugs in CoPilot remain. _________________ Gone fishing! |

It appears that the .69 update, now posted to the Eurpoean ALK website (a whole 3 months after the US posting!) has fixed this, along with the bug where the bluetooth connection is lost to the GPS regularly

When updating the Safety Camera's try using the .CSV file not the .XLS file, it solved my alerting issue that had been present for many months.
FOr more info on updating Safety camera's see Dave's support notes under FAQ on the Support - Smartphone webpages at the ALK site.
www.copilotlive.co.uk
Hope this helps

Define 'audible'. CoPilot simply beeps at you whenever there's an alert, so you have to look away from the road to find what the POI actually is. Unfortunately, by the time you do this, it will invariably have disappeared from the screen only for you to look up seconds before you crash into the back of the vehicle in front. :x |

only my second post on this forum, but have given co-pilot 6 a good outing today, and regarding theses camera alerts, i have mine set to custom/transport/safety cams ... on map option disabled to hide pios, on my return journey home is a camera sited at traffic lights on approach to it co pilot sent a beep followed by the phrase " safety camera ahead ".
I will try with pois visible on screen and see how it fares with that, i notice some of the threads on forum complain of pois dissapearing when moving these can be set to be fixed or hidden or on permanent on co pilot6.
if anyone reads this can you help out with sytem volume control ??? as it seems set at one level......... |
