|
|
I'm having a real problem TTN5 which I run on my iPAQ hx2100.
The problem started after the battery on my PDA ran flat and so I had to reinstall TTN5. Soon after that I was having real trouble getting anything to work. I would attempt to spell out address and get total gobbledegook and then I realised that in order to enter a character I had to press another character two or three spaces away from it which meant the character next to the edge of the screen couldn't be used. It wasn't just on the keyboard either, it was all the way through all the screens on TTN5.
I thought I could remedy the problem by doing a hard reset and then re-install but the same thing happened again. I then decided that maybe I should return things to the way they were before the battery had gone flat so I re-installed TTN3 and then installed TTN5 as I had when I first got it. That seemed to solve the problem but it only lasted for a few hours and then the same problem started all over again. On top of that I now can't link my PDA to the wireless GPS.
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas about what is causing the problem and how to solve it? Is it TTN5 or is there a problem with my PDA (doesn't seem to be)?
Hope everything makes sense. |

When it was reset did it ask you to point the stylus in the corners to calibrate the digitzer? There must be an option in the screen settings to recalibrate it. Here it is -
Settings - System -Screen - Align
Does that fix the problem? |

That took me into Self Test, the screen alignment failed but I am not offered a way to re-alighn it unless it is doing it automatically as the alignment has improved slightly but not nearly enough to solve my problem. It clearly is the PDA that has the problem and not TTN5 although I'm still not getting a link between TT and the GPS. |

If the screen alignment failed it may indicate your screen is out of tollerance. Running down your device may have affected voltages somehow. You may need a hardware fix. |

If you mean get the damn thing repaired I was hoping to avoid that but thought it would be necessary. Fortunately I have a spare PDA and have installed TTN5 on there and it is working fine.
Thanks for the help. |
